Background
Born into a Banite splinter cult, Atris, then named Meetra, and her "siblings" were raised to become the next Chosen. Over the first 11 years of her life, she was subjected to cruel treatment and brutal training in assassination, magic, and martial combat.At age 11, Meetra and her sister, Kreia, tried to escape from the underground compound in which they were raised. During the attempt, the two were seperated, and Meetra brought the facility down with a powerful magic explosion.Presumed dead by the remaining cult members, Meetra changed her name to Atris and began living on the streets of Baldur's Gate. Committing petty crime and living in public buildings, particularly libraries, she did what she needed to survive.At age 16, Atris broke into a locksmith's shop in hopes of finding food and money; however, she was caught by the owner. The Locksmith, a human man named Ginn, was impressed by the girl's lockpicking skills. In exchange for not turning her in to the authorities, he asked her to become her apprentice.The next 11 years were spent learning at Ginn's side. Over the years, the two became family, with Ginn seeing her as the child he never had. Unfortunately, during the Nautiloid attack, Ginn was killed after pushing Atris out of the way of falling debris. Without time to grieve, Atris is captured by the Mind Flayers.

Personality
Kind and rational, Atris is well liked by those few that get to know her. Despite this, she is plagued by crippling self-doubt and anxiety as a result of her traumatic upbringing. She prefers to be alone, not out of a lack of desire to have friends, but an inability to let her guard down. She self identifies as a people pleaser.Atris possesses a curious mind, often devoting countless hours into research of seemingly random topics. Despite extensive research, she has yet to gain an understanding of humor. She is very organized and likes to stick to a routine.

• Keeps a notebook in which she writes jokes she hears, and why they are funny in hopes to understand comedy
